Also, in latin based languages the 'k' sound followed by a hard vowel (A,O, or U) is usually spelled with a C (like in canada, cuba, congo, corea, etc)... K is usually used when its followed by a soft vowel (E or I) like Kenya. Therefore, Corea with a C makes more sense... are you enlightened or sorry you asked?
Korean Girl: ttyl

I be pimp'n....

havent really pimped any music since Muse and Killers in 2004. Since then, both bands has risen to become two of the biggest bands in the world. Well, here are couple more bands worth pimping...

The Editors

Been listening to them nonstop recently. After their awesome debut album came out in 2005, many dubbed them as an "Interpol-clone". Even then, I thought they might be better than Interpol. Their second album came out last month and confirmed this. The new album is quite different from their first while still rocking their unique electric guitar sound.

Editors - Munich - their first hit
Editors - Blood - another one of my fav from the first album
Editors - Smokers outside the hospital door - first single from new album
Editors - An end has a start - title track and another standout from new album

Bravery:

When grunge and punk were starting to lose their grip on the radio airwaves in 2004, the Killers were the first band to bring back the retro synth/electronic sound to the radio. Shortly after, the Bravery came out. The Killer's lead singer, Brandon Flowers (by all accounts, not a nice guy) felt threaten by the Bravery and quickly attacked them aying they copy the Killer's looks and sound and started a bitter freud. I truely believe the two Bravery albums are as good as the two Killers albums. However, the killers skyrockets in popularity while the Bravery still played in high school gyms and bamistfas (ok, i'm totally exagerating). Recently, Brandon Flowers call the Bravery and apologized for starting the freud saying he was jealous of them.

Bravery - Honest mistake
Bravery - Time won't let me go

Muse, Editors, Bravery... all three bands in So Cal within 10 days of each other!! woohooo~

Snow Patrol - Greek (Jul 23)

Linkin Park/My Chemical Romance - Hyundai Pavillion (Jul 28)

Bravery - Wiltern (Sep 14)

White Stripes - Forum (Sep 19)

MUSE - Irvine Ampitheatre (Sep 21)

Editors - Wiltern (Sep 24)

Arctic Monkeys – Palladium (Sep 25)

She Wants Revenge - Glasshouse (Oct 5)

CURE - Hollywood Bowl (Oct 14)

Interpol – Forum (Oct 23)

I was pulling out of parking space as i was leaving the santa anita mall, i looked over and saw this family walking toward the mall. It was a dad and three kids. The oldest boy, who looked around 10, leans over and throws a close fist punch at his youngest sister, who looked around 7. Of course, she instantly starts crying. The father, who looked like one of those very nice wussy guys, walks over with a consoling/helpless smile and comforts the girl. The boy was obviously upset about something and was walking off to the side with his head down. Then the dad goes over with the same consoling/helpless smile and trys to comfort the boy. I didnt know what prompted it, but I drove over with my windows rolled down and was ready to shout at the boy cuz a guy should never throw a close fist punch at a girl. Then i saw the boy teary eyed and figured he felt very guilty so I refrained from chewing him out. How can the father let something like this happen in the first place? How could he not punish the boy for this kind of behavior?

I think this is why many girls dont like the "nice guy" type. Often they dont take control in these situations. They always let things go and dont earn the respect of others. Is my assessment correct?

over-rated!!! over-rated!!!

During this morning's KROQ morning show, one of the morning show staff refered to Angelina Jolie as "fugly"... everyone else on the show totally thought he was crazy... this led to a call-in segment where people named female celebs that they do not think is hot at all even though everyone else thinks they are hot.. So callers called in and named their own overrated celebs... cameron, gweneth, etc.. someone even said jessica alba!! of course, everyone on the show got all worked up over that one and told the caller to go drink some acid...

So just for fun, here is my top 5 female celebs that everyone else like, but I think is fugly.

5. Claudia schiefer
4. Denise Richards
3. Katie Holmes
2. Thandie Newton
1. Sandra Bullock

Honorable mentions: Angelina Jolie, Kierstin Dunst, Tyra Banks

Note: Judgement is made base on their prime. (cuz someone suggested Sarah Jessica Parker. She was quite hot during her prime about 20 years ago)

any contradictions? other suggestions?

Reunited and it feels so good

A month ago, I lost my $350 Sony K800 cell phone (3.2 MP Cybershot-with-auto-xenon-flash) on my way to clubbing at Garden of Eden. Before I even went inside the club, I realised I didnt have my phone. I was pretty sure I left it in my friend's car. So after clubbing, I went back to his car and spend 15 minutes combing through his car while calling it with another phone.. I couldnt find it and I can't hear it ring, so i figured i probably lost it somewhere outside his car and its gone for good.. maybe it had fell out when i opened the car door somewhere else.. I went ahead and got a replacement SIM, while borrowing my cousin's old cell fone... I even bidded $250 on ebay for the same fone, but didnt win...

So last nite, I got my fone back!! It turns out that it fell into my friend's shoes that were by my feet and he put the shoes into the trunk even before we went into the club.. so thats why later that nite I could not find it or hear it ringing. arrgh.. cant believe it took him 4 weeks to look inside his shoes... well, just happy to have my 3.2 MP Cybershot-with-auto-xenon-flash cell phone back... yay~

yeah, I have a history of premature ejaculation. No~! It's not what you think. I'm talking about my stock trading discipline!! Three weeks ago, I bought a Chinese solar energy stock (TSL) at $19.30 and sold it a week later at $21.00. That's a 9% profit in one week. Not bad. But if I didnt sell and held on two more weeks (which is today!), it would be 92% profit. Arrghhh...

this reminds me of my ultimate blunder in 1999. I put about $600 in a small stock call E-Digital (EDIG) at $.22 a share. A week later, it shot up to $.55 a share and I sold it for about a $1000 gain. Pretty good for a $600 investment. However, if I held on 5 more weeks, it would be at $3.50 per share and I would have made $9000 in profit. If I held 5 more months, it would be at $22.00 per share and I would have made over $60,000 in profits on my $600 investment. ARRGH! I know I would have never held the stock to the high of $22 per share, but I wish I did better. With the potential of making $60,000, I only made $1000 (which was still the most profit I've made in any stock, lol)

funny how it dropped all the way back down since then.. ahhh, how i miss the good 'ol tech boom days where wall street was paved with gold.. *sigh*

Currently holding on to ACH (Chinese aluminum), RIO (Brazillian metal/minning), MPEL (Chinese/Macau casinos). Hope these can do take off soon like TSL did. If so, no more premature ejaculation!

I've been at my job for 13 months now. I've not missed a single day of work, neither sick nor vacation days. I feel tired and don't want to work anymore. I'm having thoughts about leaving. So I'm weighing the pro's and con's of my job.

Reasons I want to leave my job:

3) Salary: since the company has been losing hundreds of millions of dollars per year, the pay is relatively low. I pretty sure by now, I'm in the bottom 1 percentile in terms of annual compensation among my MBA classmates, despite that I believe I'm in the top half among my class in terms of abilities and experience. Money has never been that important to me, but the gap is getting too big.

2) Colleagues: I'm OK with my coworkers. It's just that there isn't anyone I can relate to on a personal level. Almost everyone there is married with children. Casual conversations at the office usually involves families and pets. At my previous work as a consultant, I had coworkers who I can talk with about subjects that I'm interested in - sports, weekend partying, and of course, the pursuit of loose women. =)

1) Commute: It takes me just under an hour to get to work and over an hour to go home. I lose more than two hours of my life every work day stuck in traffic. It gets draining after a while. I wish I can use that time to go to the Gym or something.

Reasons why I want to stay at my job:

3) Managers: My superiors/bosses, from my immediate supervisor to the CFO of the company, are all very nice and fair. I enjoy working for them on a professional level.

2) Internet freedom: Some of my friends are not allowed to surf the net or IM at work. I dont know how they can survive at work like that. The net is like a window to the outside world, thus I don't feel like I'm trapped inside a labor cellar. I can track my stocks, manage my fantasy sports teams, read journals, page-hop on friendster/myspace, shop online, read the news, play games, and of course chat with friends. It's hard to put a monetary value on it, but internet freedom at work is worth at least $10K per year to me.

1) Introducing the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X!.

Well, #1 is not just the Evo X. It's the fact that the auto industry is fun and dynamic. I would rank it in the top 5 funnest industries to work in (entertainment, casinos, fashion, and airline would be the other 4). At social settings, it's more interesting to tell people I work in the Car industry than as an investment banker or an Accenture consultant.

the Lancer Evolution has been basically the most revered mainstream performance car among car enthusiasts. It has an intense cult following. Whenever I tell people who are into cars that I work at Mitsubishi, the conversation always steers toward the Evo.

Evo VIII

Evo IX

Evo X

Like most people I know, I was at a house party for NYE. Only difference is that it's my own house and I'm the only guest. lol.

Darn it, my laptop decided to not work anymore and I lost everything on it. I lost all my files, music, personal records, porn (nooooooo, not the porrrrrrn~)..

2006 was the best year in music since 2003. So many great new albums, thus I have to extend it to top 15 songs of the year. Fortunately, I've been sending music to my online friends and was able to get some of the songs back to share with you.

My Top 15 Songs of 2006

15. Invincible - Muse an overlooked song from the best band in all of music.
14. Madi Don't Leave - PlayRadioPlay
13. Is it Any Wonder - Keane
12. Empire - Kasabian
10. Eurydice - Sleepthief Evanescence/Enya voice, but with electronic background music. I I'll try to upload this when I get a new laptop
10. All Sparks - Editors
09. Nothing in My Way - Keane
08. Take a Bow - Muse
07. Map of the Problematique - Muse
06. Blood - The Editors They sound like a funner and pop-ier version of Interpol
05. Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol I like this song more before they started overplaying it on the radio
03. Starlight - Muse
03. Read My Mind - Killers
02. Decipher Reflections - PlayRadioPlay Sounds just like Postal Service, ladies. This teenager exploded onto the music scene by getting popular on myspace.
01. Knights of Cyndonia - Muse same note as Chasing Cars

waste of time

so i got up at 6 am today.. hit up 4 malls and all i got was a lemonade from hot dog on a stick... unless you camp out for the promotional items at like best buy or something, back friday is a waste of time.. as someone who goes to the mall every week, i see similar sale prices ocasionnaly throughout the year..

note to self: when shopping at upscale apparel stores, do not walk around with one earphone in the ear.. "excuse me, do you have these in extra large? (gave her a weird look).. ooooh you dont work here? cuz you have one earphone in your ear".... of course, this is not as bad when I wore red polo with white pants when shopping at Target.

Muse-cology class

as I've said many-a-times.. Muse is, in my opinion, the best band in all of music right now... their 2003 album 'Absolution' is one of the best albums ever... very innovative and powerful sounds blended with nice mellow feel... Many describe Muse as "Radiohead with a touch of Queen"... i describe Muse as "what Radiohead should have been"

Only download if you promise to blast these songs thru a nice speaker system.

Muse 101 - the basics and classics

Muse - Hysteria the one song that best exemplifies Muse

Muse - Unintended one of the softest Muse songs, my favorite

Muse - Newborn classic blend of complex sounds and motifs

Muse - Sing for Absolution sleek sounding mellow favorite

Muse - Muscle Museum first hit in 1999 that introduced the world to Muse

Muse 201 - new album out in two weeks

Muse - Starlight very strong track, with classic Muse style

Muse - Map of Problematique best beginning ever... great song

Muse - Knights of Cydonia first single, one of my most requested songs on alternative radio right now

They were voted best live act in all of England (where good music comes from)... so I cant wait to see them live again...

Sitting at home with some time to kill on Saturday afternoon, I entered this online poker tournament. First place gets $2500, and top 10 are in the money. There were 2086 people that entered the tournament and everyone started with $1500 in chips... I jumped off to a good start and after 2 hours, I was 6th overall in the chip lead with $31,000.. and after 4 hours, I was 21st overall with $46,000.

As you can see, I was 21st out of 24 people remaining. As my chip stack dwindled, I knew I had to make a move. At the 4 hour and 20 minute mark, here it was.

Good News: I flopped trip 10s. Bad News: some mofo flopped a straight. He put me all in after the flop and that was it. I finished 21st out of 2086. So 4 hours and 2051 players later, I ending up with nothing but a journal entry documenting my wasted saturday afternoon.

I decided on a sunset orange Eclipse. However, I was told that they are out of '06 eclipse and I have to wait couple months for the '07 Eclipse. So I switched my order back to the Lancer Ralliart. Meanwhile they have a basic silver Eclipse that I can drive until my Ralliart comes in.

Left: I will be driving this silver Eclipse for the next couple months... yeah, I like my car the same way i like my woman... gorgeous exterior, sexy curves, good interior, and of course, nice round ass..
Right: the Lancer Ralliart that I ordered...

introducing the brand new '07 Eclipse Spyder convertible. It comes out this month. Its one hot looking car. I might consider it when I accumulate more money..

The new '07 Eclipse Spyder

Yeah, it took me from point A to point B
